The WEL Australia organisation has prepared a scorecard with regard to the upcoming election. Here it is.
In December 2021, the Women’s Electoral Lobby SA (WEL-SA) organised a seminar to seek the views of SA women on their political priorities for the State election. More than 50 women attended the seminar and actively participated in the development of a list of pressing women’s issues. WEL-SA organised this list into seven main priority areas, each with sub-headings. compiled issues of relevance and importance to the Women of South Australia. There are seven priorities that have been identified on the basis of matters raised with WEL-SA.
It was decided to poll the Leaders of the three major political parties (Greens SA, Labor, Liberal); candidates in marginal seats (where a marginal seat was defined as a previous win by less than 6% of the votes); and all officially registered independent candidates for the House of Assembly. The marginal seats were Adelaide, Badcoe, Elder, King, Lee, Mawson, Newland, Torrens, and Wright.
